Lightningstorm growled. "Yeah sure." Lightningstorm padded out, beckoning to Pineconepaw to come with him. He did not know if Pineconepaw actually came, but he was too worried on the leader's attitude. She never acted that way. It worried him.

Pineconepaw followed. Silverstar was still twitching her tail. "Stupid cats" she muttered. She walked into her den.

"I HEARD THAT!" Lightningstorm yowled as he went off on patrol, oddly only him and Pineconepaw. "Yeesh, what is wrong with our leader this time?" Lightningstorm grumbled.

"Don't know " Pineconepaw said. "Maybe you as Deputy can ask her" she said. Pineconepaw had a feeling she knew why Silverstar was acting that way but wasn't sure. Pineconepaw continued walking.

"Nah, she's impossible. What should I do now?" Lightningstorm asked. He spent a long, boring patrol that felt like moons. He returned at sunfall, hoping that his leader was better. He padded over to the leader's den. "Silverstar, what's wrong with you today?" He asked

Silverstar stopped licking her paw. "I'm mad at Pineconepaw though I expect she got it from her father. Truth is I was once a rogue named Silver my mate and I had four kits he planned to kill them. I took them in the middle of the night to this clan. Wolfstar took us in. Well my mate attacked the camp. He killed my three kits one kit survived because she blended in. My mate escaped. The kit that survived was Pineconepaw "

"I haven't even told Pineconepaw" Silverstar mewed. "I found a tuft of his fur around the Willow patch and I know he is going to want to kill Pineconepaw and me" Silverstar said. "Can you just make sure no cat goes over there" Silverstar pleaded. She blinked

Pineconepaw was out hunting when she caught the scent of a fox. The fox lunged out at her. The fox bit Pineconepaws shoulder. Pineconepaw let out a screech. She tried to scratch it with a paw but the fox bit her paw. Blood welled over her paw and shoulder she couldn't even stand up. She closed her eyes waiting for the fox to finish her off.

Lightningstorm rushed over and killed the fox with one, swift blow to the neck, his eyes cold and ruthless. He picked up Pineconepaw and carried her over to the camp. He put her in the medicine den and went to Silverstar. "A fox attacked Pineconepaw. I pit her in the medicine den. The fox is dead though. Should I clear it?" Lightningstorm said.

Lightningstorm slept on top of a tree that night. He waited for any attacks from Silverstar's Ex Mate. He always kept his claws unsheathed. The stench of blood won't go away. It was coming from Lightningstorm.

A black tom bounded forward bursting through the trees. His pelt full of claw marks. He had many nasty injuries. He was panting hard
